Protect Electron / Node.js Logic with JSVMP
Electron apps and Node CLIs ship JavaScript (or easily recoverable JS). Competitors and unpaid redistributors can unpack app.asar, skim license checks, and clone paid CodeCanyon / Gumroad templates.
JSVMP (via VEILVM) compiles high-value modules into VM bytecode so casual unpacking no longer yields readable business logic.
Good targets
- License / seat validation
- Proprietary algorithms inside a CLI
- Premium feature gates in a sold template
- Offline watermark or ownership checks
Leave alone
node_modulesand Electron/Chromium themselves- Large UI frameworks
- Anything that must stay easy for customers to patch via config
Pipeline sketch
src/license.js → VEILVM (Pro API) → dist/license.protected.js
electron-builder / pkg / nexe packs dist as usual
Pro API: up to 2 MB source per request — see docs.
